Anita is the Managing Principal at Lewis & Knopf CPAs, P.C. Her areas of expertise include healthcare, high net worth individuals, professional services, estates and trusts, and school districts. Anita has helped numerous physicians set up their professional practices from scratch, including their billing systems, office procedures and accounting cycle. Many of her clients have developed multi-million dollar practices. She also helps many of her clients with estate and gift plans for their families, implementing strategies to save thousands of dollars in estate taxes.
Anita grew up in London, England and came to Michigan in 1985. She joined Lewis & Knopf in 1988 concentrating on high net worth professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit. Anita cares deeply about her clients and it shows in the professional and personal relationships she maintains. Anita believes life is too short to waste and has learned over the years to spend her time wisely, as time can never be regained – especially moments with children, family, and special friends.
When asked what inspired her to become an accountant, she says, “I liked math, and accounting is the #1 profession in which you can poke your nose into other people’s business and get paid for it! Accounting is a truly flexible and rewarding career for women who want to be available to raise their families and also create something for themselves which will be there when their children are grown and have moved on.”
When not serving clients, Anita enjoys playing golf with her family, dressmaking, foreign travel and attending her sons’ sporting and school activities. She resides in Grand Blanc, Michigan with her husband, Inder, and two teenage sons, Anish and Anuj.
