Employee Spotlight – Allison Wilcox
Allison joined the Lewis & Knopf team in 2014. She specializes in providing audit, tax and small business services, including QuickBooks support, bookkeeping and payroll. Allison serves clients in a variety of industries, but her main focus is on medical and dental practices.
What year did you join Lewis & Knopf?
I joined the firm in 2014, so I’ve been here for over five years now.
Tell me a little about where you attended college and the degree(s) you earned. Any special accomplishments?
I attended the University of Michigan – Flint, where I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting.
What is your favorite thing about living in Michigan?
I love that Michigan has so many amazing places to visit. Our state has such beautiful scenery in every season of the year. I feel grateful to live in a state that offers so many places to see.
Tell me a little about your family.
I have been with my wonderful fiancé, Mike, for a little over five years now. We have a small house in Lennon where we live with our two “furbabies,” Bella and Hudson. Mike and I plan to get married in June of 2021 at one of our favorite spots in Northern Michigan. We are excited to begin our lives together as Mr. & Mrs.! We’re also looking forward to starting a family of our own.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
If I didn’t have to sleep, I would spend the time redecorating/remodeling my house and watching movies.
What fictional place would you most like to visit?
I would love to go to Hogwarts and explore the castle.
What do you wish you knew more about?
I would love to know more about football so I could participate in Saturday and Sunday night banter.
What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?
I’ve traveled to Cancún, Mexico.
What is your favorite smell?
I love the smell of fall-scented candles. I could happily have my house smell like cinnamon apples all year round!
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
I once had alligator.
What was your first job?
I worked as a cashier at a Wendy’s.
